Dr. David P. Lerner is an assistant professor of neurology at SUNY Downstate, Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology at Brookdale and Director of the Neurocritical Care Division at OBH. He serves as an associate program director for the adult neurology residency. His interests in neurology education began with teaching as a medical student, was fostered in the form of curricular innovation during residency and as a chief resident, and have continued as a faculty member working in resident education and mentorship. His clinical and research interests lie in neurocritical care, specifically brain death, and simulation. He practices as a neurocritical care attending at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center working alongside neurology, emergency medicine, internal medicine and surgery residents.
