Dr. Arthur Kay, Associate Program Director, graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, interned at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, completed a neurology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, NYC, and spent a 2-year fellowship at the NIH in Bethesda, MD.
After heading the Geriatric Neurology Division at Mount Sinai Medical Center for 2 years,
Dr. Kay returned to his birthplace (literally), Brookdale Hospital, to Chair the Department
of Neurology. After spending 36 years in this role, he is ready to pass the leadership role to
a younger, vibrant corps of superbly trained neurologists.
Dr. Kay takes pride in the growth of Brookdale Neurology to be one of the leaders of
vascular neurology and Neurocritical care in Brooklyn, and the opening of a 3-year
Neurology Residency, slated to graduate its first class in 2025. An old-fashioned Neuro-
Generalist at heart, he is dedicated to training the residents to be well rounded in the
neurosciences.
