Artem Sunik, MD

Artem Sunik, MD

Dr. Artem Sunik is a dedicated neurologist with a passion for improving stroke care and education. He currently serves as a Neurology Attending Physician at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he has been instrumental in developing the stroke program from a low-volume thrombolytic center to a high-volume Thrombectomy capable stroke center. Dr. Sunik’s efforts led to the center’s certification by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) in November 2019 and its recertification in November 2022. His commitment to teaching is evident through his role as a teacher of medical students and residents at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he conducts morning reports, clinical rounds, didactic lectures, and Grand Round Presentations.

Dr. Sunik educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from St. Matthews University School of Medicine in the Cayman Islands, followed by a Neurology Residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL. He furthered his expertise with fellowships in Vascular Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Neurophysiology at SUNY at Stony Brook. Dr. Sunik is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Sunik enjoys spending time with his family, practicing martial arts, reading, and traveling.
